Zhao Hui: Nourishing the Construction of the Modern Form of Chinese Civilization through the New Practice of Chinese-style Modernization
Researcher Zhao Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Liaoning Academy of Social Sciences, points out that the modern form of Chinese civilization is a continuously enriching and perfecting new form of human civilization. It both inherits the prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization and possesses the attributes of Sinicization and modernization [1]. Furthermore, it maintains powerful cohesion, appeal, and communicative influence, constituting a unique form that is distinct from both traditional civilizations and Western civilization. As a brand-new practice in the ongoing history of human development, Chinese-path modernization possesses distinct characteristics: it adheres to the socialist direction under the leadership of the Communist Party of China; it upholds the value orientations of putting the people first and common prosperity; and it has created the "two miracles" [2] of rapid economic development and long-term social stability, while simultaneously providing new opportunities and a new vision for global development. In the process of continually advancing Chinese-path modernization, we must create a new form of human civilization across five dimensions: creating a new height of material civilization to fortify the material foundation of civilizational development; opening a new realm of spiritual civilization to consolidate national spiritual strength; cultivating a new paradigm of institutional civilization to perfect the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics; manifesting a new outlook for social civilization to promote social harmony and progress; and constructing a new form of ecological civilization to achieve the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. The modern form of Chinese civilization not only responds to the "question of the times" regarding "where China is headed" [3], but also provides a Chinese solution for the universal challenges facing humanity, promoting the renewed brilliance of Chinese civilization through mutual learning and exchange.
