The Second "Marx and Engels' Thought and the Contemporary World" Forum was held in Beijing on July 2. The forum was hosted by the Department of Marxist Principles at the Institute of Marxism Studies [1] of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and organized by the Research Office of Marx and Engels' Thought. More than 30 people participated in the seminar, including Professor Cheng Enfu, Director of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and Member of the Academic Division [2]; Professor Li Chongfu, Member of the Academic Division; Researcher Wang Yicheng, former Director of the CASS Institute of Political Science; Professor Li Bin, Dean of the Institute of Marxism Studies at Ningxia University; as well as researchers from units such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Party School, the Henan Provincial Party Committee Party School, and Ningxia University. The meeting was presided over by Researcher Hu Leming, Director of the Department of Marxist Principles at the Institute of Marxism Studies.

The theme of this forum was "Marx and Engels' Theory of Class and Social Stratification and the Transformation of China's Social Structure." The experts and scholars attending the forum engaged in discussions centered on several key topics: the primary viewpoints of Marx and Engels' theory of class and social stratification, the innovative development of these theories, the current status and problems regarding social class and stratigraphic mobility in contemporary China, and the changes and future prospects of the structure of social classes and strata in China.
