The Academy of Marxism Convenes a Mobilization Meeting for the "Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Path" Activity
On the afternoon of July 23, 2013, the Institute of Marxism Studies held a mobilization rally for the "Educational Practice Activity of the Party's Mass Line." Deng Chundong, Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee, delivered the mobilization speech. Zhang Guanzi, head of the Third Steering Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Director of the Bureau of Personnel and Education, attended and addressed the meeting.
At the meeting, Comrade Deng Chundong first conveyed the fundamental spirit of the "Speech at the CASS Mobilization Rally for the Educational Practice Activity of the Party's Mass Line" by Wang Weiguang (President and Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of CASS), as well as the "Implementation Plan for the Educational Practice Activity of the Party's Mass Line of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences" and the "Implementation Plan for the Educational Practice Activity of the Party's Mass Line of the Institute of Marxism Studies." In his speech, he pointed out that carrying out this educational practice activity was a major decision made at the 18th Party Congress [1], to which the Central Committee and the CASS Leading Party Members' Group attach great importance. He emphasized that every Party branch, all Party members, and particularly leading cadres at or above the division and office level [2] within the Institute of Marxism Studies must raise their awareness and immerse themselves in the activity with a proactive attitude. It is essential to master the work requirements and primary principles of the educational practice activity to ensure that the activity is carried out along the correct direction. Implementation must be prioritized to strive for the best possible results. Through this educational practice activity, the aim is to achieve a new transformation in the spiritual outlook of all personnel, a new shift in the style of study [3] and work, and a new improvement in overall work performance.
Comrade Zhang Guanzi pointed out in his speech that the Institute of Marxism Studies has attached great importance to this educational practice activity, has undertaken significant preparatory work, and has formulated an implementation plan that aligns with the realities of both CASS and the Institute. He emphasized that, ideologically, there must be a profound understanding of the great significance of this educational practice activity; in terms of implementation, it must be integrated with the advancement of work, and the educational practice activity should be tested by the actual results of advancing the unit's [4] work. He stated that the steering group would rely closely on the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies to carry out its work, fulfilling its duties without overstepping its bounds and providing guidance without taking over administrative functions.
Following the meeting, the steering group conducted a democratic appraisal [5] of the current leadership team and its individual members at the Institute of Marxism Studies.
The meeting was chaired by Comrade Cheng Enfu, Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies, and was attended by all personnel of the Institute.
