CPC Committee Center Group of the Academy of Marxism Holds Special Study and Seminar Session

On the morning of July 31, 2013, Deng Chundong, Party Committee Secretary of the Institute of Marxism Studies (Academy of Marxism), presided over a specialized study and seminar session regarding the "Commemorative Educational and Practice Activity on the Party’s Mass Line" ^[1]. Attendees included Cheng Enfu, Fan Jianxin, Zhang Zuying, Xia Chuntao, Xu Wenhua, and Comrade Liao Gang, a member of the Third Steering Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

The meeting focused on the specialized study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech delivered on June 18, 2013, at the working conference for the Educational and Practice Activity on the Party’s Mass Line, as well as the spirit of Comrade Wang Weiguan’s speech delivered on May 10, 2013, at the CASS mobilization rally for the same activity. Comrade Deng Chundong pointed out that while everyone had previously studied these two important speeches individually, and the basic spirit of the speeches had already been conveyed during the Institute’s own mobilization rally, the collective study remained insufficiently deep. This session was primarily intended to conduct an in-depth study and discussion to profoundly grasp the spiritual essence of these directives.

Through the study and seminar, participants reached a consensus that these two speeches are of critical importance and provided significant guiding meaning for the deep development of this educational and practice activity. The Institute of Marxism Studies must earnestly implement the spirit of these speeches; leading comrades must take an active lead to push the educational and practice activity into greater depth in a down-to-earth ^[2] manner, ensuring it becomes a powerful impetus for promoting the work of the Institute.
