The Academy of Marxism Holds General Staff Meeting to Deploy Related Work | Marxism Research Network

On the afternoon of August 28, 2013, Deng Chundong, Party Committee Secretary and President of the Institute of Marxism Studies, presided over a general meeting of all staff.

The meeting relayed and studied the spirits of the important speeches delivered by Xi Jinping and other central leading comrades at the National Conference on Propaganda and Ideological Work and the National Conference on Organizational Work. It also covered the speech by Comrade Liu Yunshan at the third meeting of the Central Leading Group for the Educational Practice of the Party's Mass Line ^[1], the "Notice on Successfully Carrying Out the Work of the First Batch of Educational Practice Activities" issued by the Central Leading Group for Educational Practice Activities, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Summer Work Conference held from August 13 to 15, and the CASS Party Group Enlarged Meeting ^[2] held on August 26.

At the meeting, Comrade Deng Chundong briefly reviewed the work of the first phase of the Institute of Marxism Studies’ "Educational Practice of the Party's Mass Line" and deployed the tasks for the second phase (Identifying Problems and Conducting Criticism). Comrade Deng Chundong requested that each branch earnestly carry out all tasks in this phase and effectively put forward opinions and suggestions for the Institute to further strengthen the construction of work style ^[3]. This will serve as preparation for the successful convening of the Party Committee’s democratic life meeting ^[4] and the introduction and refinement of relevant systems.

Participants are expected to reflect on their own failings and peer-review the conduct of their colleagues to maintain ideological purity and organizational discipline.
