☆ Cheng Enfu [1] January 12–14: Participated in the review meeting for the "2011 Plan" Collaborative Innovation Platforms, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology. January 31: Interviewed by the "Phoenix Panorama" program of Hong Kong's Phoenix TV regarding population issues; met with a delegation from a publishing house to discuss the compilation of the Illustrated Biography of Marx. February 21 (Morning): Met with the General Secretary of the Portuguese Communist Party and a delegation from the European Office of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the International Liaison Department [2], holding a symposium on theoretical and practical issues concerning China and the world. (Afternoon): Reported on several legislative proposals planned for submission to the National People's Congress (NPC) at a symposium for members of the "Two Sessions" [3] within the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). March 4: Attended the "China-Mexico Cultural Alliance Conference for the Promotion of Human Progress," co-hosted by the CASS Center for Economic and Social Development and the Center for Science of Transition at the Autonomous University of Mexico City, and delivered the opening address. March 5: Held a press conference at the CASS Center for Survey and Data Information, accepting interviews from over ten media outlets including Xinhua News Agency, CCTV.com, and the Global Times. March 5–17: Attended the First Session of the 12th National People's Congress. March 19–24: At the invitation and expense of the Russian side, attended the "Russian International Economic High-Level Forum" and delivered a speech titled "Chinese Experience and Future Development in Responding to the International Financial and Economic Crisis." April 2 (Afternoon): Delivered an academic report titled "Analysis and Assessment of Seven Major Current Ideological Trends in China" at the CASS Data Center. April 8: Attended the commemorative seminar for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences' Deng Xiaoping Theory Research Center and delivered a speech titled "Further Improving the Socialist Market Economy System." April 12 (Afternoon): Attended a journal management meeting hosted by the CASS International Cooperation Bureau; reported on the status of the English-language international journal International Critical Thought to the Bureau and the Vice President of Thomson Reuters, receiving positive feedback. April 19: Presided over a meeting of the China Association for the Study of Economic Laws to discuss the association's work. April 24: Lectured on classic works including On the Ten Major Relationships [4] and On the Correct Handling of Contradictions Among the People [5] at the CASS Graduate School. (Afternoon): At the invitation of the Lecturers' Group of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, delivered a report on "Several Issues Concerning the China Model and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" at the Tongzhou District Branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau. April 26: Interviewed by the Chinese Social Sciences Net (cssn.cn) on the theme "Top-Level Design of China’s Economic Reform and the Future Direction of Reform." June 3: At the invitation of the Communist Youth League Committee of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, explained the Chinese Dream and the China Model in the auditorium of Zhongnanhai [6]. June 6 (Morning): Met with Professor Allan Megill, an American scholar of Marxist history. June 20 (Afternoon): Met with Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and his delegation. June 24: Invited to participate in the production and interviews for the Beijing TV documentary series The Right Path Through Vicissitudes: 500 Years of World Socialism.
☆ Deng Chundong January 4: Participated in the Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism and delivered a speech. January 5: Traveled to Guangxi to conduct a lecture tour on the 18th National Congress of the CPC. January 10: Traveled to Jiangsu to conduct a lecture tour on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC. January 27: Presided over the compilation meeting for the research book series New Thoughts, New Perspectives, and New Assertions of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. February 20: Participated and spoke at a symposium convened by the Work Committee for Offices Directly Under the CPC Central Committee. February 26: Convened a meeting to organize the writing of reading materials for the education campaign on the mass line. March 1–4: Traveled to Hong Kong to participate in the theoretical seminar "Clean Government Construction and Government Management" convened by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of the Hong Kong SAR Government. March 19–20: Traveled to Taiyuan, Shanxi, to lecture on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC. April 11–13: Conducted field research in Nanning and Hechi, Guangxi; April 14–16: Conducted field research in Guiyang to prepare for the Central Conference on Propaganda and Ideological Work. May 15: Traveled to the Chinese Academy of Governance to lecture on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC. May 19: Invited to participate in the Guangzhou Tianhe Party-Building Research Forum. May 27: Traveled to the CCCC Investment Company of the Ministry of Transport to lecture on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC. June 24: Traveled to the Hebei Provincial Public Security Department to lecture on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC. June 27: Traveled to the Chinese Academy of Governance to lecture on the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC.
☆ Fan Jianxin January 23: Presided over the CASS Youth Forum on Studying the Spirit of the 18th National Congress—"Theoretical Innovation and Historical Responsibility" Academic Seminar. February 19: Participated in a theoretical symposium at the Bureau of Theory of the Central Propaganda Department. February 28–March 1: Participated in the First International Forum on Socialism—"Construction of Socialist Thought and Culture in the Process of Globalization," presided over the first report session, and delivered the closing speech. March 7–31: Reviewed and edited the Yearbook of Marxist Theoretical Research and Discipline Construction (2013 Edition). March 22, 25: Participated in symposiums for field research on propaganda, ideological, and cultural work. April 9: Presided over a symposium between a delegation of senior executives from Nordic financial institutions and CASS scholars. May 8: Participated in a symposium hosted by the Bureau of Personnel and Education for a research project commissioned by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. May 16–17: Participated in a project research meeting organized by the CASS Bureau of Personnel at the Ministry of Culture. May 27 (Afternoon): Delivered a report on strengthening ideological and theoretical construction to the Central Study Group of the Party Leadership Group [7] of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. May 28–31: Led a team to conduct field research in Zhejiang. June 24: Participated in a seminar on drafting research reports for the project group of the CASS Bureau of Personnel and Education. June 25–28: Traveled to Northeast China for field research.
☆ Zhang Zuying April 10, 19: Participated in academic seminars of the CASS Center for Women’s and Gender Studies. April 15, 26, and May 2: Participated in the seminar "Socialist Women’s Theory with Chinese Characteristics" presided over by Comrade Peng Peiyun [8]. June 19–23: Traveled to Gansu to participate in the "Nanliang Spirit Seminar" [9] convened by the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military District. June 26: Received President Wu Chengzhen of Wuyi University to discuss research work regarding "Cross-Strait Cultural Comparison." June 28: Traveled to Peking University to participate in the "Seminar on Contemporary Chinese Women’s Theory."
☆ Li Chongfu January 4: Invited to participate in the theoretical seminar "The Third Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism—The Sinicization of Marxism: History and Laws," and delivered a speech titled "Several Relationships that Must Be Handled Correctly in the Sinicization of Marxism." January 8: Invited to participate in the "Academic Annual Meeting of the Discipline of Basic Tenets of Marxism," and delivered a speech titled "Reflections on Correctly Understanding and Grasping the Tenets of Marxism." January 23: Invited to participate in the theoretical seminar "Upholding and Developing Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" hosted by the CASS World Socialism Research Center, and delivered a speech titled "Revolutionary Ideals are Higher than the Heavens." Abstracts were published or reprinted by People.cn, Chinese Social Sciences Net, Chinese Social Sciences Today, and the website of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies. March 8: Invited to participate in and speak at a research symposium convened by the project group of the "Field Research on the Propaganda and Ideological System" of CASS. April 6: Participated in and presided over the "First CASS Marxist Philosophy Forum—Marxist Philosophy as a Communist Worldview and Contemporary Chinese Practice." April 25: At the invitation of the CASS Bureau of Personnel and Education, participated in an interview based on the Central Propaganda Department’s "Research Plan for the Propaganda, Ideological, and Cultural System," and provided a written response regarding his understanding and views on the issues.
