China-Mexico Cultural Alliance Conference for Advancing Human Progress Held in Beijing

On March 4, the "China-Mexico Alliance for the Advancement of Human Progress and Culture" meeting, jointly organized by the Center for Economic and Social Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Center for Sciences of Transition at the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM), was held in the conference room of the Institute of Marxism Studies [1] at CASS. Attendees included Professor Cheng Enfu, Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies; Dr. Enrique Fernández Fassnacht, Rector of the Autonomous University of Mexico City; Professor Heinz Dieterich, Director of the Center for Sciences of Transition at the Autonomous University of Mexico City; Professor Alix Lozano of the Center; as well as representatives from more than ten domestic universities, including Liaoning University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Fujian Normal University, Shanghai University, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Director Cheng Enfu delivered the opening remarks. Professor Dieterich introduced the cooperation between the Autonomous University of Mexico City and our Institute, along with other domestic universities and research institutions over the past year. He highlighted the publication of the Spanish edition of the book China's Political and Economic Influence in Latin America (authored by Alfredo Jalife-Rahme, Director of the Geostrategy Laboratory at the Center for Sciences of Transition, UACM) and the implementation of the first Chinese-Spanish teaching software in the Latin American region (designed by Professor Alix Lozano of the Center for Sciences of Transition, UACM). Furthermore, the meeting discussed specific exchange and cooperation projects between Chinese academic and research institutions and the Autonomous University of Mexico City, including mutual scholar visits, student exchanges, and joint publications for 2013.
