News & Updates

China International Online Report (by Tang Li, China International Radio correspondent): On June 4 local time, the opening ceremony of the "4th China, Russia, and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Development Strategy Forum"—an international forum co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Vistula University in Poland—and the seminar "Future Development Trends of China and Poland amidst Changes and Realignments in the International Landscape" were held at Vistula University.

Scholars from both China and Poland engaged in lively discussions, focusing primarily on cooperation and exchange between the two nations under China's Belt and Road Initiative [1]. Polish scholars introduced Poland's friendly relations with China from a historical perspective and expressed expectations that Chinese investment would place greater emphasis on improving Poland's people's livelihoods, such as housing improvements; they also hoped for a further increase in educational and humanities [2] exchanges between the two countries. Building upon existing academic achievements, Chinese scholars looked forward to the prospects of cooperation between China and CEE countries under the Belt and Road Initiative, while outlining the opportunities and challenges facing such cooperation. Additionally, Polish scholars presented information on Poland's economic development, educational system, and international exchanges. Chinese scholars provided introductions and explanations regarding China’s advancement of opening-up within the today's shifting global landscape, the opportunities the Belt and Road Initiative brings to China and the countries along its routes, the global significance of the New Development Philosophy [3] proposed by China, and China’s need to actively construct its own discourse system [4] on the world stage.

It is reported that the "4th China, Russia, and Central and Eastern Europe Development Strategy Forum" will subsequently convene three additional meetings in Belgrade, Serbia, as well as Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia.
