On July 21, Deng Chundong, Dean and Party Secretary, Attended the 2017 National Seminar on the Basic Principles of Marxism
On the morning of July 21, the 2017 National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism, jointly sponsored by the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for the Theory of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (China University of Political Science and Law), opened in Beijing. Over one hundred scholars from various universities and research institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Wuhan University, attended the meeting.
Deng Chundong, Researcher (Fellow) [1] and Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor Cheng Enfu, Member of the CASS Academic Division [2], Member of the Academic Division Presidium, and Director of the Academic Division of Marxist Studies; and Professor Hu Ming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China University of Political Science and Law, each delivered opening addresses. Keynote reports were presented by Professor Cheng Enfu, CASS Academic Division Member; Professor Sun Xiguo, Dean of the School of Marxism at Peking University; Professor Wang Yan of the School of Marxism at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Yu Bin, Researcher (Fellow) at the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies; and Professor Tai Lihua of the School of Marxism at the China University of Political Science and Law.
This symposium established three parallel sessions. The themes for discussion were: Basic Principles of Marxism in Das Kapital; Research on the System, Hierarchy, and Content of the Basic Principles of Marxism; and Research on the Application of the Basic Principles of Marxism.
