On October 12, President and Party Secretary Deng Chundong held a meeting with Maurizio Acerbo, General Secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party of Italy
On the morning of October 12, 2017, Deng Chundong, Director and Party Committee Secretary of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and a five-member delegation held a discussion in Rome with Maurizio Acerbo, General Secretary of the Party of Communist Refoundation (PRC) [1] of Italy.

Director Deng Chundong first expressed his respects to the Party of Communist Refoundation led by General Secretary Maurizio Acerbo. Acerbo expressed his gratitude and welcome to the visit by Deng Chundong and the five-member delegation. In the subsequent meeting, he expressed his admiration for the achievements China has made in recent years, stating that China is a very important force for peace, and that China’s peaceful rise and development have brought well-being to the people. Whether it be the great Chinese people, the Communist Party of China, or Chinese culture, all are forces capable of influencing Europe. Subsequently, the two sides engaged in an exchange on issues of mutual concern, such as the historical evolution and current status of the Party of Communist Refoundation, the nature of the Italian Five Star Movement [2], and the reasons for its rise and development. During the meeting, both parties expressed a shared desire to further strengthen exchange and cooperation at the level of academic theory.
Also participating in the meeting were Researcher Li Chunhua, Party Committee Secretary of the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies at CASS; Xin Xiangyang, Vice Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies [3] at CASS; Professor Li Yan from the Institute of Fundamental Theory of Ideological and Political Education at Northeast Normal University; and Li Kaixuan from the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS.
