From October 18 to 19, Vice President Jin Minqing of the Academy of Marxism Led a Delegation for an Academic Visit to Austria
On October 18–19, 2018, a delegation led by Professor Jin Minqing, Deputy Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), conducted academic visits to the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna and the Transform Europe organization in Austria.
On October 18, Professor Jin Minqing and approximately 20 faculty members and students from the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna engaged in a spirited exchange regarding the issue of "China's Industry and Industrialization." Professor Jin Minqing introduced the historical developmental trajectory of China’s modern industry, while Professor Zhang Jiangang introduced the achievements and future development directions of China’s industrialization. Professor Josef Baum of the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna spoke highly of China’s industrialization achievements. The delegation answered questions from the faculty and students of the Department of East Asian Studies concerning "Made in China 2025," "the Belt and Road [1] construction," "clean energy," "the construction of the social credit system [2]," "a community with a shared future for humanity," and "the relationship between the market and the government."

On October 19, Professor Jin Minqing and scholars including Peter Fleissner, a leader of the Transform Europe organization, held a friendly exchange focused on "The Development of Marxism in China and Europe." Professor Jin Minqing focused his introduction on the historical process of Marxism's development in China and the innovative achievements of its Sinicization. Professor Jin emphasized that Sinicized Marxism is not bookishness [3] that mechanically copies isolated words or phrases from Marx; rather, it is the product of integrating the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s actual reality—a Marxism that undergoes continuous innovation and development. From Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping to Xi Jinping, Chinese Communists, by promoting the integration of the basic tenets of Marxism with the practice of Chinese revolution, construction, reform, and the New Era, have solved the problems of the Chinese nation "standing up," "becoming prosperous," and "becoming strong [4]." Peter Fleissner introduced the developmental evolution of Austromarxism [5] and the Communist Party of Austria. Both sides also discussed issues of mutual concern, and the delegation answered questions raised by Transform Europe regarding "the relationship between the market economy and public ownership" and "the construction of the social credit system."
