2019 Editorial Board Meeting of "Studies on Marxism" Held in Beijing
On April 27, the 2019 Editorial Board Meeting of Marxism Studies was held in Room 218 of the Administration Building of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The meeting was presided over by Fan Jianxin, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, and was divided into three sessions: keynote speeches, editorial board discussions, and concluding remarks.

During the keynote speech session, Jiang Hui—Member of the CASS Party Leadership Group [1], Director of the Institute of Contemporary China [2], Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the Institute of Marxism Studies, and Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board of Marxism Studies—delivered an address and speech. Tan Xiaojun, Director of the Editorial Department, presented the journal's development progress, and Liu Pu, Director of the Periodicals Division of the CASS Research Management Bureau, introduced the periodical management protocols of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Participating experts engaged in discussions regarding the journal’s positioning, column configuration, topic planning, editorial and proofreading quality, current advantages and difficulties, and future development. They offered valuable opinions and suggestions. The attendees unanimously expressed their commitment to fulfilling their duties as board members and providing strategic advice to ensure that Marxism Studies continues to improve.

Finally, Xin Xiangyang, Deputy Dean of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies in charge of Marxism Studies, delivered concluding remarks. He thanked the board members for their speeches and candid suggestions, and urged the editorial department to strengthen their political consciousness and sense of professional responsibility. He emphasized the need to proactively solicit and organize manuscripts, improve peer-review and editorial mechanisms, and build the journal into a truly authoritative publication.
