The Academy of Marxism Holds a Mobilization and Deployment Meeting for Studying, Publicizing, and Implementing the Spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee
On the morning of November 25, 2021, the Institute of Marxism Studies (Academy of Marxism) [1] convened a mobilization and deployment meeting for the study, promotion, and implementation of the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC [2]. Comrade Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, presided over the meeting. Vice Presidents Comrade Gong Yun, Comrade Lin Jianhua, and Comrade Yu Junxiao attended the meeting, along with all cadres and scholars of the Institute.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang emphasized that the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee was a milestone meeting convened at an important historical moment—the centenary of the Party's founding—and at a major historical juncture where the Party and the people, having victoriously realized the First Centenary Goal [3] of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, are now advancing toward the Second Centenary Goal [4] of building a great modern socialist country in all respects. Studying, promoting, and implementing the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session is a major political task for the current and future periods. It is necessary to attach great importance to the study, promotion, and implementation of the Plenary Session's principles; to study the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the session and the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century [5] adopted by the session in their original form, comprehensively and systematically; and to grasp their core meaning to achieve a thorough, integrated understanding. Furthermore, the study, promotion, and implementation of the Plenary Session's principles must be combined with the promotion of high-quality development in scientific research, further advancing the construction of the "Three Great Systems" [6] of Marxist theory.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang put forward five requirements for the Institute's work in studying, promoting, and implementing the guiding principles of the Plenary Session: First, the study of the Resolution adopted by the Plenary Session must be combined with the study of the previous two "historical resolutions" [7], with the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping's "July 1st" important speech [8], with the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important expositions on Party history, and with the study of the "Four Histories" [9]. Deeply comprehending the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments" must be taken as the fundamental requirement for deepening the study and education of Party history, pushing Party members and cadres to deepen their cognition and understanding and grasp the essence. Second, the Theoretical Learning Center Group of the Party Committee [10] should take the lead in conducting study and discussion, while each branch and Youth Theoretical Study Group should organize multi-level and multi-form study and exchange activities to ensure substantive results are achieved. Third, there must be active participation in the work of publicizing and lecturing on the principles of the Plenary Session, drawing on respective research fields to guide cadres and the masses in deepening their understanding and grasp of the principles. Fourth, theoretical research and interpretation must be deepened, with theoretical articles written and published to accurately interpret the important historical conclusions and major conceptual viewpoints put forward in the Resolution, and to promptly clarify erroneous perceptions and one-sided understandings. Fifth, journals and media such as Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie Shehuizhuyi Yanjiu), and the Marxism Research website should carry out all-around, multi-angled, and three-dimensional theoretical interpretations and in-depth reports centered closely on the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session, creating a strong atmosphere for study and implementation.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang emphasized that each branch must formulate a sound study plan and coordinate the advancement of various tasks to ensure that the study, promotion, and implementation of the Plenary Session's principles achieve solid results, further driving the high-quality development of the Institute's research work.
Following the mobilization and deployment for the study, promotion, and implementation of the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, Comrade Xin Xiangyang also delivered a specialized Party lecture to all Party members and cadres of the Institute, focusing on the in-depth study of the historical experience of the Party's century of struggle.
