Academy of Marxism Holds Seminar for Studying and Communicating the Spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee

On the morning of December 8, the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) convened a seminar to study and exchange insights on the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee ^[1]. Comrade Xin Xiangyang, Party Committee Secretary and Vice President, attended the meeting alongside Vice Presidents Comrade Gong Yun and Comrade Yu Junxiao. All cadres and scholars from the Institute of Marxism Studies participated.

The session began with exchange presentations by Vice President Comrade Gong Yun, titled "A Marxist Historical Document Capable of Withstanding the Test of History," and Vice President Comrade Yu Junxiao, titled "An Action Guide for Realizing the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation: Reflections on Studying the 'Resolution' ^[2]."

Further exchange presentations were delivered by: Comrade Chen Zhigang, Director of the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, on "The CPC’s Century of Struggle and a New Form of Human Civilization ^[3]"; Comrade Yu Bin, Director of the Department of Marxist Principles, on "A Comparison of the Three Historical Resolutions and Their Enlightenment ^[4]"; Comrade He Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the Department of the Sinicization of Marxism, on "Understanding the Fundamental Question of the Communist Party of China"; Comrade Pan Jin’e, Director of the Department of the International Communist Movement, on "Carrying Forward the Important Experience of the Party’s Century of Diplomatic Work to Promote the Building of a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity"; and Comrade Yu Haiqing, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Marxist Studies, on "The Significance of the Historical Experience of the CPC’s Century of Struggle from the Perspective of Comparative Global Political Parties."

In his concluding remarks, Party Committee Secretary and Vice President Comrade Xin Xiangyang emphasized that in studying the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, the Institute of Marxism Studies must give full play to its disciplinary advantages. On the basis of deeply studying and thoroughly grasping ^[5] the spirit of the document, scholars should use the Marxist standpoint, viewpoint, and method to analyze problems, conduct in-depth research and interpretation, and produce a series of high-quality research results. He noted that through theoretical study, the Institute should enhance its research capabilities and further promote the high-quality development of all aspects of the Institute's work.
