From July 22 to 26, the National Conditions Survey Group of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences conducted a survey in Inner Mongolia.

In April 2023, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the working conference for the thematic education ^[1] campaign on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, putting forward clear requirements for further improving investigation and research ^[2]. In order to effectively implement the requirements of this thematic education and deeply strengthen investigation and research, a national conditions research team from the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) traveled to several leagues and cities ^[3] in Inner Mongolia. The team conducted research centered on themes such as "Ecological Civilization ^[4] Construction of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era" and "Strengthening the Political and Organizational Functions of Party Organizations."

From July 22 to 26, Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, led a group to Hinggan League and Xilingol League to conduct research on national conditions. They were accompanied by Zhu Xiaojun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Federation of Social Sciences, and Liu Zhong, Deputy Director of the Hinggan League Working Committee of the Regional People's Congress. The research team visited Jingye Group Ulanhot Steel Co., Ltd. to learn about industrial upgrading projects for green energy conservation and environmental protection, including blast furnace energy saving, gas recovery for power generation, and sewage treatment. They traveled to the Ulan Maud Grassland in Horqin Right Wing Front Banner ^[5] to conduct field research on infrastructure construction and grassland ecological protection. They also visited Duolun County and Zhenglan Banner to understand the comprehensive management of grassland sandy land and the progress of projects returning farmland to forests and grasslands ^[6], and held several symposiums and exchanges with relevant local departments.

From July 12 to 16, Lin Jianhua, Vice President of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, led a group to Hinggan League and Tongliao City to conduct research on national conditions. They were accompanied by Zhu Meng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Social Sciences, and Jiao Gangwei, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department. The research team visited Erlongtun Organic Agriculture Co., Ltd. in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner, Haridaobu Gacha ^[7] in Bayanhushutown, and the Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner Museum to understand the Party building ^[8] work in "two new" organizations ^[9], Party building-led rural revitalization, and grassroots propaganda, ideological, and cultural work. In Kailu County, they visited the Red Dried Chili Industry R&D Center, the Xiaochengzi Standardized Demonstration Orchard and Corn Demonstration Base, and the Party-群众 (Mass) Service Center of the Kailu Biomedical Development Zone. They also visited the Tianyi Nursing Home, Shiji Tiancheng Company, and the Municipal Museum to understand how high-quality Party building leads rural revitalization and how Party leadership governs the high-quality development of social organizations. Symposiums were held where deep exchanges were conducted with relevant departments on strengthening the political and organizational functions of Party organizations.

From July 10 to 14, another research team from the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies traveled to Bayannur City and Ordos City to conduct national conditions research. They successively inspected the Ershili Liuzi Ulan Buh Desert Management Area in Dengkou, the Yellow River Sanshenggong Water Conservancy Hub Project, the Modern Industry Demonstration Zone on the south bank of Ulansuhai Lake, the Ulansuhai Nature Reserve, the Ordos Carbon Neutrality Research Institute, the Ordos Zero-Carbon Industrial Park, and the Kubuqi Desert. They learned about local experiences in industrial structure transformation, photovoltaic-based desertification control, and desert water ecology management.

Through this investigation and research, the research team deepened its understanding of the Party's innovative theories, enhanced its grasp of the strategic positioning of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as a "solid northern ecological security barrier," and expanded its research horizons.
