Plenary Meeting Held by the Academy of Marxism
On the afternoon of May 30, 2024, the Institute of Marxism Studies held a general assembly to advance the deepening and substantiation of Party discipline study and education. Luo Wendong, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a disciplinary Party lecture [1] titled "Forging an Iron Army of Marxist Theory through Strict Discipline," integrating the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) study session for leading cadres at the departmental and bureau levels regarding Party discipline study and education. Xin Xiangyang, Director of the Institute, and Lin Jianhua, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee and Deputy Director, delivered speeches on the implementation of tasks related to Party discipline study and education. Deputy Director Chen Zhigang chaired the meeting.
Luo Wendong emphasized that the most important task of Party discipline study and education is to enhance the ideological, political, and actionable consciousness of firmly supporting the "Two Establishments" and resolutely achieving the "Two Upholds." All Party members must elevate their political standing [2] and profoundly recognize the extreme importance of Party discipline study and education; they must persist in a strict keynote and effectively manage this study and education. It is necessary to earnestly study the Regulations of the Communist Party of China on Disciplinary Actions and deeply carry out education on the "Six Disciplines" [3], effectively unifying thoughts and actions with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions regarding Party discipline study and education. Each branch must conscientiously implement the decisions and deployments of the CASS Party High Command [4] and, in conjunction with the "Three Meetings and One Lesson" [5] system of the Party branches, organize and carry out diverse forms of Party discipline study and educational activities.
Xin Xiangyang pointed out that in solidly carrying out Party discipline study and education, political discipline must be maintained without cease. Everyone should "address politics through scholarship" [6], prevent "low-level red" and "high-level black" [7] rhetoric, deeply study the basic principles of Marxism, and apply Marxist positions, viewpoints, and methods to solve practical problems.
Lin Jianhua conveyed the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the construction of school ideological and political theory courses; all comrades should firmly establish an awareness of being a political organ [8] and contribute their strength to the development of the Institute of Marxism Studies.
All cadres and staff of the Institute of Marxism Studies, along with some retired Party members, attended the meeting.
