Comrade Hang Yuanxiang Conducts a Special Research Visit to the Academy of Marxism | Marxism Research Network

On January 20, Hang Yuanxiang, leader of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision ^[1] dispatched to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and member of the CASS Leading Party Members' Group, conducted a research visit to the Institute of Marxism Studies. During the visit, he delivered a presentation on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and held a symposium with the leadership team and department heads of the Institute.

Hang Yuanxiang emphasized that the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies must treat the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Fourth Plenary Session of the CCDI and the spirit of the Plenum as a major political task. The Institute must effectively align its thoughts and actions with the decision-making deployments of the Party Central Committee, and continuously deepen the systematized and academic research and interpretation of the major theoretical and practical issues regarding comprehensively and strictly governing the Party and the anti-corruption struggle in the New Era. It is essential to earnestly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions regarding the Project to Study and Build Marxist Theory ^[2] in the New Era, so as to better fulfill the responsibilities and missions entrusted by the Party Central Committee.

Furthermore, the Institute must profoundly grasp the fundamental requirements for the development of political organs ^[3]. It should focus on the correct direction of the academy's operations to resolutely implement the Party’s overall leadership, and focus on practicing the "Three Consensus" ^[4] to continuously strengthen political construction. Taking the opportunity of implementing rectifications based on the Central Inspection ^[5], the Institute must persist in governing the Party with a spirit of reform and strict standards. It must ensure that the firm support for the Two Establishments and the resolute practice of the Two Upholds are integrated into all aspects of its work, with scientific research at the center.
