Digital Empowerment, Intelligent Guidance: Academy of Marxism Conducts Training on Library Digital Resource Usage

With the high level of attention and strong support from the Party Group ^[1] of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the CASS Library recently completed the construction of its digital library portal. To promote the wide application of digital resources and enhance their operational efficiency, staff from the CASS Library visited the Institute of Marxism Studies on the morning of March 13th to conduct a training session on the use of the library's digital resources. Over 80 participants, including both active and retired personnel of the Institute, attended the training.

Prior to the training, Chen Zhigang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies, welcomed the library staff on behalf of the Institute. He pointed out that the use of digital resources is vital for scientific research and expressed his hope that everyone would fully utilize this training to master various functions, thereby assisting in the elevation of research standards.

During the training process, Zhao Yi’an, Director of the Construction Department of the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation Center, provided a detailed introduction to the use of various resources and functions of the digital library portal, including literature searches, AI academic assistants, plagiarism detection, personal cloud storage, and remote login. Zhao Yi’an also introduced other research service resources of the CASS Library, such as the media center, conference rooms, interview rooms, and collection acquisition equipment. He further emphasized the importance of network and information security, stating that one must ensure that "classified information does not go online, and online information is not classified." ^[2]

At the conclusion of the training, Luo Wendong, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of the Institute of Marxism Studies. He expressed his gratitude to Zhao Yi’an and his delegation for coming to the Institute to provide training. He emphasized that researchers and editors should actively make good use of the library's various resources in their daily work to continuously improve their research capabilities and work efficiency. Furthermore, he used practical cases to particularly emphasize the importance of network and information security.
