The Retired Personnel Party Branch and the Administrative Party Branch of the Academy of Marxism Jointly Conduct a Theme Party Day Activity
In order to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, carry forward the great spirit of resistance, and deeply implement the study and education of the spirit of the central Eight-Point Regulations, on July 22, forty-five Party members and cadres from the Retired Personnel Party Branch and the Administrative Party Branch of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) braved the intense summer heat to visit the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. There, they toured the themed exhibition "For National Liberation and World Peace—Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War," followed by a visit to Fangshan District to view the exhibition "Epochal Changes and Pioneers of the Era—Theme Exhibition on Hancunhe’s Comprehensive Construction of a Socialist Modernized New Countryside."
At the Resistance Museum, following the guide, the group carefully viewed the eight sections of the themed exhibition—ranging from the initial rise to resist, where the Chinese people fired the first shot [1] of the World Anti-Fascist War, to the sections on remembering history, cherishing peace, and joining hands to build a community with a shared future for humanity. Through 1,525 photographs, 3,237 cultural relics, restored scenes, and multimedia displays, they reviewed the 14-year [2] arduous journey of the Chinese nation's war of resistance, a magnificent epic of bloody battle and unyielding perseverance. From the loss of territory following the September 18th Incident to the nation-wide resistance after the July 7th Incident [3]; from the heroic resistance of the Battle of Shanghai to the proactive offensive of the Hundred Regiments Offensive; and from the bloody struggles of the frontal battlefield to the guerrilla warfare of the enemy's rear battlefield [4], all Party members and cadres profoundly felt the tenacious will and great national spirit erupted by the Chinese nation in the process of resisting foreign invasion. They deeply sensed the role of the Communist Party of China as the "pillar of strength" (zhōngliú dǐzhù) [5] at the moment of national peril, as well as the lofty patriotism and internationalism of the sons and daughters of China in their unyielding and bloody struggle.
After lunch, the group arrived at Hancunhe Village in Fangshan District to first visit the theme exhibition "Epochal Changes and Pioneers of the Era—Hancunhe’s Comprehensive Construction of a Socialist Modernized New Countryside." They toured the exhibition halls in sequence: "A Century of Vicissitudes, A Great Miracle" displayed the profound changes that have occurred in Hancunhe under the Party's leadership; "Arduous Entrepreneurship and Determined Reform" reviewed the struggle since the start of reform and opening up, where under the leadership of the former Party Branch Secretary Tian Xiong, Hancunhe Village underwent two entrepreneurial transformations, developed the collective economy, took the path of common prosperity, and built a socialist new countryside. "Dreaming with Craftsmanship and Forging Ahead" showcased the enormous achievements of Hancunhe since the 18th CPC National Congress [6], using Party building to lead a "third entrepreneurial journey," creating high-quality industrial chains, and assisting in the fight against poverty. "Historical Inspirations and Development Prospects" displayed the honors, experiences, corporate cultural concepts, and future development goals of Hancunhe’s construction of a socialist modernized new countryside.
Subsequently, the group visited peasant households to witness and feel firsthand how the formerly impoverished farmers are now living modern, happy lives, and went to the headquarters of the Hanjian Group to view exhibitions on corporate culture and other new business formats. Everyone deeply appreciated the arduous exploration and great creativity of Hancunhe as it moved from poverty and backwardness toward common prosperity under the Party’s leadership, and they felt profoundly the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China and the powerful vitality and superiority of the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Through this day of organized visits and study, we have gained much, receiving a profound education in Party spirit (dǎngxìng) [7] and a spiritual baptism.
