On the morning of November 25, 2025, the Work Conference of the Ideological and Theoretical Writing Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) was held in the Academy’s academic lecture hall. The meeting was chaired by Researcher Luo Wendong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies. More than 80 representatives from the writing groups of various units affiliated with the Academy attended the meeting.

Luo Wendong first welcomed the attending leaders and experts and expressed gratitude for their long-standing support of the writing group’s work. He pointed out that this meeting aimed to adapt to new situations and requirements, further expand the team, build consensus, clarify tasks, and promote the writing group's work to a new level.

Cui Weihang, Researcher, Executive Director of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies, introduced the overall situation, main achievements, and work experience regarding the publication of theoretical articles by the Academy in the name of the Center in the central "Three Press Groups and One Journal" [1]. He expressed hope that experts would continue to support the Center's work and publish more articles under its name.

A series of exchange speeches were delivered by: Mo Jihong, CASS Member (Academician) [2], Vice Secretary of the Joint Party Committee of the Institute of Law and the Institute of International Law, and Director of the Institute of Law; Gong Yun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Economics; Feng Weijiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Institute of Information Studies; Zhang Shuhua, Director of the Institute of Political Science; Yuan Lei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of History; Zhao Jianing, former Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Social Sciences Press; Wei Nanzhi, Deputy Director of the Bureau of International Cooperation; Liu Zhiming, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee and Deputy Director of the Institute of Philosophy; Zhi Zhenfeng, Director of the Law Branch of the Institute of Law Library; Wang Guang, Director of the Department of Marxist Historical Theory at the Institute of Historical Theory; Gao Lingyun, Director of the Editorial Department of World Economy at the Institute of World Economics and Politics; and Yang Ge, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Population and Labor Economics.

They shared their experiences and methods for publishing theoretical articles in the "Three Press Groups and One Journal," and offered opinions and suggestions on how to further optimize the writing group's working mechanisms, strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration, improve article quality, and better serve the Party's theoretical innovation and practical development. The participants reached a consensus that the writing group has played a vital role over the past decade, providing a high-level research, interpretation, and exchange platform for the Academy's scholars. This meeting unified thinking, clarified direction, and concentrated strength, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the Academy’s ideological and theoretical writing group at a new starting point.

In his concluding remarks, Luo Wendong emphasized that, facing the missions of the New Era, the writing group must center its work on the primary task of deeply studying, researching, and interpreting Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It must focus on promoting the systematized and academic research and interpretation of the Party's innovative theories, as well as the construction of an autonomous knowledge system [3] for Chinese philosophy and social sciences.

The writing group must conscientiously implement the deployments of the Academy’s Party Leadership Group, continue to promote the publication of theoretical articles in the central "Three Press Groups and One Journal" in the name of our Academy’s Center, and continuously improve the quality and influence of these articles. It must solidly organize and execute the writing and publication of the "two categories of articles" [4]; fulfill assigned writing tasks, organize key theoretical articles, and actively explore the establishment of cross-unit and cross-disciplinary collaborative mechanisms to produce more landmark and leading high-quality theoretical achievements.

The head of the Comprehensive Coordination Department of the "Three Offices" of the Institute of Marxism Studies reported on the work of the writing group since its establishment in June 2015. The meeting was hosted by the Office of the Ideological and Theoretical Writing Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
