↩ [1] 两点论 (liǎngdiǎnlùn): The "Two-Point Theory" is a core principle of Maoist dialectics, emphasizing that every contradiction has two opposing aspects. It warns against "one-point theory" (one-sidedness). "Vulgarization" (庸俗化) in this context refers to the reductive or superficial application of Marxist categories that strips them of their critical, revolutionary, or scientific essence.

↩ [2] 星座 (xīngzuò): Literally "constellations," referring here to Western astrology/zodiac signs, which became a popular "secular superstition" among Chinese youth in the post-Mao era.

↩ [3] 光武 (Guāngwǔ): Referring to Emperor Guangwu (r. 25–57 CE), the restorer of the Han Dynasty (Eastern Han). He is historically noted for his heavy reliance on omenology to legitimize his rule.
