[Academic Announcement] 21st Century Marxism Grand Lecture (Lecture 2)
The "21st Century Marxism Grand Lecture Hall," sponsored by the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), will hold its second lecture on April 8. Researcher Zhu Jiamu—former member of the CASS Leading Party Members’ Group [1], former Vice President of CASS, and former Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China—will deliver a specialized lecture titled "The CPC’s Unswerving Adherence to its Original Aspiration and Mission [2] as Seen Through a Century of Struggle."

Profile of Comrade [3] Zhu Jiamu: Zhu Jiamu was born in 1946 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. A member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a Senior Researcher, he graduated in 1970 from the Department of CPC History at Renmin University of China. In 1975, he worked in the Theory Group of the State Council Political Research Office. In 1977, he served as secretary to Hu Qiaomu [4]. In 1980, he worked in the Briefing Group of the Research Office of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat. In 1981, he served as secretary to Chen Yun [5] (and since February 1982, as the head of the Office of Chen Yun). In 1985, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Tianjin Port Authority. In 1987, he served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the CASS Graduate School. In 1990, he was transferred to the Central Party Literature Research Management Office of the CPC Central Committee, where he successively served as Head of the Comprehensive Group, member of the Office Committee, Secretary-General, and Director of the Fourth Research and Editorial Department. In 1999, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Institute of CPC History and President of the CPC History Press. From December 2000 to April 2012, he served as a member of the CASS Leading Party Members’ Group, Vice President of CASS, and Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China. From 2001 to 2013, he concurrently served as the Executive Deputy Head of the China Local Chronicles Guidance Group. He is currently the President of the Association for the National History of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of the "Chen Yun and Contemporary China" Research Center at CASS, a Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a delegate to the 14th and 15th CPC National Congresses, and a member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
