Chen Xiwen is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) and Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. He formerly served as the Deputy Leader and Director of the Office of the Central Rural Work Leading Group ^[1], as well as Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Leading Group ^[2]. He was a delegate to the 16th, 17th, and 18th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a member of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) ^[3] and Vice Chairman of its Economic Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and Vice Chairman of its Economic Committee. He has participated in the drafting of numerous Central Document No. 1s ^[4] since the beginning of the new century.

He has been a multi-time recipient of the Sun Yefang Economic Science Award ^[5], the China Development Research Award, and other honors. He serves as an adjunct professor at several universities, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and China Agricultural University.
