Guest Speaker Profile: Han Zhen, born in 1958, holds a PhD in Philosophy and serves as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. He is currently the Chairman of the Academic Committee of Beijing Normal University. He previously served as Vice President of Beijing Normal University, as well as President and Party Committee Secretary of Beijing Foreign Studies University. His concurrent positions include Member of the Consultative Committee of the Marxism Theoretical Research and Construction Project [1], Member of the National Textbook Committee, and Member of the Philosophy Division of the Ministry of Education’s Social Science Committee. He also serves as Vice President of the Chinese Society for Modern Foreign Philosophy and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Federation of Social Science Circles. Furthermore, he is the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Beijing Normal University (Social Sciences Edition) and the Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers of Philosophy in China, and sits on the editorial boards of journals such as Social Sciences in China (Zhōngguó Shèhuì Kēxué), Philosophical Researches (Zhéxué Yánjiū), and Social Sciences in Chinese Higher Education Institutes (Zhōngguó Gāoxiào Shèhuì Kēxué).
In 1999, he was awarded the Special Government Allowance [2]. He has been selected for the Beijing "Hundred Scholars Project for Cross-Century Young Theoretical Workers" training program, the Ministry of Education’s "Cross-Century Talents" program, and the first cohort of the "New Century National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project" led by the Ministry of Personnel and other ministries. He was also selected for the Publicity Department’s "Cultural Masters and the 'Four Batches' of Talents" [3] training program and the first cohort of the Central Organization Department’s "Ten Thousand Talents Program" as a leading talent in philosophy and social sciences. He has received numerous national, provincial, and ministerial awards for teaching, textbooks, and scientific research achievements.
