Call for Papers: The 4th International Forum on Socialism (2016)

Greetings!
To strengthen the understanding of the latest developments in Marxist theory and the dynamics of socialist practice among socialist countries, and furthermore to provide beneficial references for the socialist theory and practice within our respective nations, since 2013, China, Vietnam, Laos, and other socialist countries have taken turns hosting three sessions of the "International Forum on Socialism," which have achieved positive social responses.
By mutual agreement, the Fourth International Forum on Socialism will be hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and organized by the School of Marxism at Guangxi Normal University. We hereby notify you of the relevant information regarding the Fourth "International Forum on Socialism" as follows:
- Time of Meeting: November 1–5, 2016 (The conference sessions will be held on November 2–3; on November 4, a visit to the Memorial Hall of Schools for Vietnamese Students [1] and other sites will be organized).
- Location: Guilin City, Guangxi, China.
- Scale of Meeting: 80–100 persons. This includes 15 participants each from Vietnam and Laos, and 50–70 Chinese scholars.
- Forum Theme: "Socialist Reform (Renovation) [2]: Retrospect and Prospect" Main topics include: (1) Achievements, experiences, problems, deficiencies, lessons, and reflections concerning socialist reform (renovaton); (2) Major current progress and measures in the reform (renovation) of socialist countries; (3) Future prospects for the reform (renovation) of socialist countries; (4) Internal and international situations, risks, and challenges facing the current reform (renovation) of socialist countries; (5) Comparative study of the similarities and differences in the reform (renovation) of socialist countries.
The conference organizers welcome active submissions from teaching and research personnel at scientific research institutions and universities across the nation. The Forum Preparatory Group will issue formal invitations to participate to selected paper authors. Submissions should be under 10,000 characters and must include an abstract, keywords, author biography, contact phone number, address, zip code, and email address. (If selected for a presentation, a speech draft of approximately 1,000 characters is required, which must be translated into Vietnamese and Lao).
