Call for Papers: 2022 National Forum on the Basic Principles of Marxism

The academic discipline of Basic Principles of Marxism is a designated Priority Discipline [1] at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (led by Professor Cheng Enfu and Research Fellow Yu Bin). The "National Seminar on the Basic Principles of Marxism" series aims to facilitate exchange and the presentation of achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the research and teaching of the basic principles of Marxism, while striving to promote the classical inheritance and innovative development of these principles. The 2022 National Seminar on the Basic Principles of Marxism will be jointly hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, the School of Marxism at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS), the editorial department of World Socialism Studies, the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Theory of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Beijing Universities (China University of Political Science and Law), the School of Marxism at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics base of the Jiangsu Provincial Research Center for the System of Theoretical Innovation of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics [2]. The seminar is scheduled for November 2022, and we sincerely invite colleagues from the national academic community to participate and exchange ideas.

The theme of this seminar is: "The Study and Application of the Basic Principles of Marxism: Studying the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress." Specific topics include: (1) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding economic construction in the New Era; (2) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding political construction in the New Era; (3) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding cultural construction in the New Era; (4) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding social construction in the New Era; (5) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding ecological civilization construction [3] in the New Era; (6) The 20th CPC National Congress Report on thoughts regarding international issues; (7) Contemporary applications of the basic principles of Marxism; (8) Disciplinary construction of the basic principles of Marxism; and related subjects.

The seminar follows a "submission-based attendance" policy. Experts and scholars intending to participate are requested to write papers centered on the seminar theme. Paper formatting should refer to the submission requirements of the journal Marxism Studies. Following the conference, we will select outstanding papers to recommend to journals such as Marxism Studies, Studies in Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and World Socialism Studies. The deadline for paper submissions is November 1, 2022.
