Notice of the 2022 National Forum on Basic Principles of Marxism
The discipline of Basic Tenets of Marxism is a designated Priority Discipline of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), led by Professor Cheng Enfu and Research Fellow Yu Bin. The "National Symposium on the Basic Tenets of Marxism" conference series aims to facilitate exchange and the display of research achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the study and teaching of the basic tenets of Marxism, with the objective of promoting both the classical inheritance and the innovative development of these tenets.
The 2022 National Symposium on the Basic Tenets of Marxism is jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, the Editorial Department of World Socialism Studies, the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Beijing Universities (China University of Political Science and Law), the School of Marxism at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and the NUAA Base of the Jiangsu Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics [1]. The symposium is scheduled to convene from November 5–6, 2022. We sincerely invite colleagues from the national academic community to participate and engage in exchange.
The theme of this symposium is: "The Basic Tenets of Marxism and the Study of the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" [2]. Specific topics include:
(1) The thoughts on economic construction in the New Era in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (2) The thoughts on political construction in the New Era in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (3) The thoughts on cultural construction in the New Era in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (4) The thoughts on social construction in the New Era in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (5) The thoughts on ecological civilization construction [3] in the New Era in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (6) Contemporary applications of the basic tenets of Marxism; (7) Disciplinary development of the basic tenets of Marxism; (8) The basic tenets of Marxism and the development of the "Great Program of Ideological and Political Courses" [4]; and related topics.
The symposium follows the principle of "participation through paper submission." Experts and scholars intending to attend are requested to write papers centered on the conference theme. Paper formatting should refer to the submission requirements of the journal Marxism Studies. Following the conference, we will select outstanding papers for recommendation to journals such as Marxism Studies, Journal of Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and World Socialism Studies. The deadline for paper submissions is October 25, 2022.
