Call for Papers: The 3rd National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 4th Symposium of the Beijing Youth Forum on Marxist Economics
Call for Papers: The 3rd National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 4th Seminar of the Beijing Youth Forum on Marxist Economics
The core priority for deeply implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee [1] lies in continuously deepening an integrated understanding of China's economic system reform and the coordinated development of economy and society. This requires emphasizing the systematic and speculative nature of Marxist economic research, as well as its critical stance toward contemporary capitalism, in order to promote a more equitable and efficient development of the socialist economy through theoretical innovation. To this end, the 3rd National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 4th Seminar of the Beijing Youth Forum on Marxist Economics is scheduled to be held.
Closely revolving around the theme of the conference, this forum will feature a comprehensive recognition, understanding, and reflection on the relevant works and viewpoints of contemporary foreign Marxist and left-wing scholars. It will conduct in-depth discussions on the following key topics:
- Prioritizing the development of a mixed-ownership economy [2] with controlling stakes held by public capital.
- Better exerting the roles of both the market and the government.
- The distinction between Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and the Neoliberal theory of the "decisive role of the market."
- Economic, social, and ecological crises and contemporary capitalism.
- Capital accumulation, the production of space, and distributive justice.
This forum will also feature a "Social Perspective Salon" and exchange sessions with editorial departments, providing a platform for young scholars to engage in intellectual exchange with core journals and professional media.
Teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, institutions of higher geaming, and other units, as well as members of this forum’s council, are encouraged to submit papers. The forum preparatory group will select participants from the submissions and issue formal invitations. The deadline for submissions is [Date Omitted].
Selected papers will be recommended to important relevant journals such as Marxism Studies (《马克思主义研究》), Teaching and Research (《教学与研究》), Shanghai School of Economics (《海派经济学》) [3], Teaching and Research (《政治经济学评论》), Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (《中国特色社会主义研究》), Red Flag Repository (《红旗文稿》) [4], Academic Exchange (《学术交流》), and the Journal of Hebei University of Economics and Business (《河北经贸大学学报》).
No registration fee will be charged for this conference. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses during the meeting.
