Call for Papers: The 5th National Marxist Economics Forum and the 6th Seminar of the National Young Scholars Forum on Marxist Economics
Deeply studying General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Symposium on Philosophy and Social Sciences [1] and persisting in the guiding position of Marxism within the development of Chinese philosophy and social sciences is the key to the current development of 21st-century Marxist political economy and the political economy of socialism with Chinese characteristics. To this end, the 5th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 6th Seminar of the National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics are scheduled to be held on October 28–29, 2016, at Hebei University of Economics and Business. It is organized by the School of Marxism at Hebei University of Economics and Business and co-organized by the Economics Editorial Department of the Information Center for Social Science of Renmin University of China.
This forum will focus closely on the theme of "Constructing the Disciplinary, Textbook, Categorical, Methodological, and Discoursive Systems of 21st-Century Marxist Political Economy." Building upon the holistic achievements of the development of philosophy and social sciences, and systematically tracing back to the classical texts of Marx and Engels, the forum proposes the following key topics that should be addressed in the development of 21st-century political economy:
- Research on the classical texts of Marx and Engels’ political economy
- Systematic research on the political economy of socialism with Chinese characteristics
- Critical research on foreign Marxist political economy and contemporary capitalism
- Comparative research between Marxist political economy and mainstream Western economics
- Research on the application and practical issues of Marxist political economy
In addition, the forum will host a special "Social Perspective" salon for exchanges with editorial departments, constructing a platform for young scholars to communicate with core journals and professional media.
We welcome submissions from teaching and research personnel at national research institutions, institutions of higher learning, and other units, as well as council members of this forum.
