Call for Papers: The 10th Mao Zedong Thought Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
To commemorate the 130th anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong’s birth, further deepen the study of Mao Zedong Thought, and vigorously promote the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism, the 10th Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Mao Zedong Thought Forum is scheduled to be held from May 19 to 21, 2023, in Xiangtan, Hunan Province—the hometown of the great man [1]. The forum is co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of CASS and Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST); it is organized by the Department of Research on the Sinicization of Marxism within the Institute of Marxism Studies (CASS) and the School of Marxism at HNUST. Assisting in the organization are the editorial departments of Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu), Reprinted Periodical Materials: Mao Zedong Thought (Fuyin baokan ziliao: Mao Zedong sixiang), Studies on Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping Theories (Mao Zedong Deng Xiaoping lilun yanjiu), Journal of Mao Zedong Thought Studies (Mao Zedong sixiang yanjiu), and Journal of Mao Zedong Research (Mao Zedong yanjiu). The theme of the forum is "Mao Zedong Thought and Chinese-path Modernization."
The CASS Mao Zedong Thought Forum is one of the serial forums under the CASS Project for the Construction and Theoretical Research of the Discipline of Marxist Theory. It serves as an authoritative forum in the field of Mao Zedong Thought research, aimed at strengthening exchanges among scholars across the country and promoting the in-depth development of Mao Zedong Thought studies. Established in 2014 and held annually, it has become one of the most influential national forums in this research field. We sincerely invite experts, scholars, teachers, and students in relevant domestic research fields to participate by submitting papers, and we encourage everyone to actively write and contribute articles centered on the forum’s theme.

III. Time and Location Conference Dates: May 19–21, 2023 (Registration on May 19; full-day conference on May 20; departure on May 21). Conference Location: Hunan University of Science and Technology, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province.
IV. Paper Submissions Call for papers: Submissions must be guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Content should closely integrate the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered on February 7 this year at the opening ceremony of the seminar for principal leading officials at the provincial and ministerial levels on studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Papers should demonstrate ideological depth, contemporary relevance, and innovation.
Interested experts, scholars, teachers, and students are requested to write their articles as soon as possible and send them to the email 11906156@qq.com before April 25, 2023. Papers must be unpublished research results, adhere to the correct political and academic orientation, and comply with academic norms. Generally, papers should not exceed 10,000 characters (including notes) and must be accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of approximately 300 words. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources clearly indicated (format should refer to Marxism Studies). Please ensure the submission is marked with "Conference Paper Submission" and include a brief author biography, email address, and contact phone number at the end of the text.
The organizing committee will form a paper review committee composed of relevant experts to select submissions. Official invitation letters will be sent out by May 4 for all papers selected through the review process.

V. Other Matters There is no registration fee for the conference. Transportation and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants; catering costs during the conference will be covered by the organizers.
