Call for Papers: The 9th National Forum on Marxian Economics and the 10th National Youth Forum on Marxian Economics
The year 2020 marks the concluding year for the decisive completion of a moderately prosperous society in all respects [1]. It is necessary to further organize and summarize the guiding experience of Marxist political economy for China's economic and social development, to uphold and improve the basic socialist economic system [2], and to continuously enrich and refine the theoretical construction and practical explanation of Marxist political economy. The 9th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 10th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics will be held in mid-to-late October 2020 at Liaoning University.
This forum will focus closely on the theme of "Completing the Decisive Task of Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in All Respects and Upholding and Improving the Basic Socialist Economic System," with emphasis on the following research topics:
- Textual research on the classic works of Marxist economics;
- Foreign Marxist theory and new changes in contemporary capitalism;
- Research and development of the history of Marxist economic thought;
- Marxist ecological thought and its contemporary value;
- The battle against poverty and the completion of a moderately prosperous society in all respects;
- Reform of the rural land system and the rural revitalization strategy;
- Research on the relationship between basic socialist economic systems, such as: the mainstay status of public ownership alongside the joint development of multiple forms of ownership; the mainstay status of distribution according to labor alongside the coexistence of multiple distribution modes; and the socialist market economy system;
- Other major theoretical and practical issues in Marxist political economy.
The forum plans to adopt a “1+4+3” exchange and discussion model: namely, 1 plenary keynote report, 4 sub-forum report sessions, and 3 academic exchange sessions (Youth Scholar Dialogues, Exchange on Political Economy Discipline Construction and Youth Development, and an Exchange between Academic Journals and Youth Scholars).
We welcome active submissions from researchers in national research institutions, institutions of higher education, and Party and government departments. We also encourage and support active submissions from master’s and doctoral students interested in Marxist political economy. After the papers pass the review process, formal invitations will be sent out at the end of August.
Submitted papers must be new, unpublished works. The submission deadline is July 1, 2020. Please send the electronic version of the paper to the forum’s public mailbox at bqm_2013@163.com (Liu Daoyi, Institute of Marxism Studies, CASS), with a CC to lnujdzxb@163.com (Zhang Wei and Zhang Guanghui, School of Economics, Liaoning University).
