Call for Papers: "Forum on the Theory and Practice of Ruling Party Building" by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC [1], the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as General Secretary has focused its energy on Party building [2]. Centering on new issues and challenges facing Party building in the new period, the Central Committee has proposed many new ideas, viewpoints, judgments, and measures. In order to thoroughly organize and synthesize current important thinking and practical experience in Party building, the "Forum on the Theory and Practice of Governing Party Building" plans to convene this year’s thematic seminar. We are now soliciting academic papers from across the country and welcome experts and scholars in the field of Party building research, as well as Party affairs workers from Party and government organs, enterprises, and public institutions, to attend the conference with their submissions. A collection of conference papers will be published after the event.
I. Forum Theme: Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building and Contemporary Chinese Party Building Practice.
II. Forum Timing: November 15–16, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday).
III. Forum Location: Lingui New District, Guilin City.
IV. Paper Writing Requirements: Papers may select their own titles around the forum theme, but must attend to the following three points: Papers must closely adhere to the theme, maintain correct viewpoints, and highlight ideological, academic, and practical qualities (non-academic works such as essays or poetry will not be accepted); they must be unpublished results of independent research; and the length should be within 6,000 characters. For citation and note formatting, please refer to the journal Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu) and carefully verify all citations.

Please send the electronic manuscript of the paper (paper copies are not accepted) to the email address: djcass@sina.com, along with the author's academic resume, paper abstract, and keywords. We will organize experts to review the papers and notify those whose papers have been selected to attend the conference by October 15. Prior to this, participants may pre-register and communicate with the forum organizers regarding their chosen topics.
VI. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses. This forum will provide complimentary meals and accommodation and does not charge a conference fee.
