Call for Papers: The 8th Forum on the Theory and Practice of Ruling Party Building
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Organization Department of the CPC Xiangyang Municipal Committee will jointly host the "8th Forum on the Theory and Practice of Governing Party Building" from May 28 to 30, 2021, in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. We sincerely invite colleagues from academia and practitioners to draft papers around the forum theme and take the time to attend the seminar.

- The great journey and great achievements of the CPC over the past 100 years.
- The original aspiration and founding mission of the CPC over the past 100 years.
- The experience of the CPC in ideological Party building, strengthening the Party through theory, and institutional Party governance over the past 100 years.
- Experience and insights into the CPC’s management and governance of the Party [1] over the past 100 years.
- The self-revolution of the CPC over the past 100 years.
- The great spiritual pedigree [2] and essential characteristics of the CPC.
- The CPC’s exploration of escaping the historical cycle [3].
- The laws of the CPC’s governance.
- New challenges for the CPC on the New Journey [4].
- Research on other aspects of Party building.
III. Time and Location
- Time: Registration on May 28 (Friday); Conference on May 29 (Saturday); Departure on May 30 (Sunday).
- Location: Minsheng Ruitian Hotel, Xiangyang, Hubei (No. 21, Haoran River West Road, Dongjin New District).
IV. Miscellaneous
- The forum does not charge a conference fee; participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses. Hard-copy invitation letters can be collected on-site after the meeting on the afternoon of May 29.
- Please send the call for papers and the conference registration receipt to the email djcass@sina.com before May 3, 2021. The conference organizing committee will send official invitations based on the quality of the manuscripts.
- Attendance is contingent upon the submission of a paper. After the forum, selected papers will be published in a collection or recommended to relevant core journals. The electronic file name of the paper should be "Author Name + University (Unit) + Article Title." Submissions should choose their own topics and perspectives around the theme; they must adhere to the correct political and academic orientation. Papers must be unpublished research results, ideally 6,000–10,000 words in length, formatted in Word, and accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract within 300 words. Citations should use footnotes at the bottom of the page, renumbered on each page. Specifically, please follow the publication format of the journal Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu). Please attach personal information such as author biography, professional title, position, contact phone number, and email address at the end of the text.
- Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, conference details may be subject to adjustment. Respondents are requested to maintain timely contact with the conference organizers.
