Call for Papers: Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

The "Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," jointly hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Guangxi Normal University, and organized by the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and the School of Marxism at Guangxi Normal University, will be held from November 13 to 15, 2020, at Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, Guangxi. We cordially invite our colleagues to attend this conference and welcome submissions of papers centered on the conference theme for discussion.

I. Conference Theme: The Theoretical Crystallization of Persisting in and Developing Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era: An Academic Forum on the Study of Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China

II. Specific Topics:

  1. Research on the contemporary value and original contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  2. Research on the internal logic of persisting in and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era.
  3. The fundamental ideas and significant importance of Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
  4. Research on the theoretical innovations in Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
  5. Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era.
  6. Research on the philosophical implications of Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
  7. Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the construction of Political Economy with Chinese Characteristics.
  8. Volume III of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the development of scientific socialism in the New Era.
  9. Experiences and insights from the theoretical innovations of the Communist Party of China over the past century.
  10. Bearing in mind the "two overall situations" [1] and the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era.

III. Conference Time and Location:

  1. Time: Registration on November 13 (Friday); Conference on November 14 (Saturday); Departure on November 15 (Sunday).
  2. Location: Guilin Exhibition International Hotel (No. 28 Lijiang Road, next to the Exhibition Center).

IV. Other Matters:

  1. No conference fee will be charged. Participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses. Hard-copy invitations can be collected at the conference site.
  2. Please send your paper and participation receipt to grmeiling@126.com by November 1, 2020. The organizing committee will send out formal invitations based on the submissions.
  3. Participation in the seminar is based on paper submission; selected papers will be collected and published after the meeting. The electronic file name of the paper should be "Author Name + University + Article Title." Please choose your own title based on the theme and the content mentioned above. It is imperative to adhere to the correct political direction. Papers must be unpublished original research, preferably in Word format, within 8,000 characters. Please include 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 characters. For citations, use footnotes (Songti font, size 10.5/6) renumbered on each page. For specific details, please refer to the publication format of Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu). Please include a brief author biography, professional title/position, contact number, and email address at the end of the document.
