Call for Papers: The 10th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

In order to conduct in-depth research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC [1], and explore topical issues such as Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization against the backdrop of changes unseen in a century [2], the 10th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, jointly hosted by the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Dalian Maritime University, will be held in Dalian from May 12 to 14, 2023. We sincerely invite colleagues to write papers centered on the theme of the conference and to take the time to attend the symposium.

  1. The struggle and historical experience of the Communist Party of China in exploring Chinese-path modernization.
  2. Strategic arrangements and major principles for comprehensively building a great modern socialist country.
  3. The Chinese characteristics and essential requirements of Chinese-path modernization.
  4. Basic experience, theoretical innovation, and practical creation of Chinese-path modernization.
  5. The generative logic and main characteristics of the new form of human civilization.
  6. The value implications and significance of the new form of human civilization.
  7. The logical relationship between Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization.
  8. The discourse construction of Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization.
  9. The value implications of marine development in the construction of Chinese-path modernization.
  10. The construction of a strong maritime country [3] within Chinese-path modernization.

III. Time and Location (1) Conference Time: May 12–14, 2023. Registration on May 12 (Friday); departure on May 14 (Sunday). (2) Conference Location: Dalian Bangchuidao Hotel (No. 1 Yingbin Road, Zhongshan District, Dalian).

V. Other Matters

  1. No conference fee will be charged. Participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses. Physical invitation letters can be collected at the conference site.
  2. Call for papers and conference receipt (see attachment) should be sent to the following email by April 21, 2023: weilingxue@dlmu.edu.cn.
  3. Attendance at the symposium is based on paper submission; selected papers will be compiled and published after the meeting. The electronic file of the paper should be named "Author Name + School + Article Title." Please choose your own title based on the theme and the aforementioned topics, and ensure adherence to the correct political direction. Papers must occupy original, unpublished research results. Please use Word electronic format. The length should ideally be between 6,000 and 10,000 characters, accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 characters. For citations, use footnotes at the bottom of the page in SimSun (Songti) size 9, re-numbered on each page. Specifically, please follow the publication format of Marxist Studies. At the end of the text, please include the author's biography, professional title, position, contact phone number, email address, and other personal information.
