Call for Papers: The 6th International Forum on the Communist Movement Seminar on "New Developments in the Global Socialist Movement in the New Era"
This year marks the inaugural year for the full implementation of the guiding principles of the 19th National Congress of the CPC [1]. It also coincides with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx and the 170th anniversary of the publication of the Manifesto of the Communist Party. In order to conduct an in-depth exploration of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as the new developments and challenges facing the world socialist movement in the New Era, and to deepen the understanding of the laws governing the development of socialism, the academic symposium "New Situations in the World Socialist Movement in the New Era" is scheduled to be held from June 15–16, 2018, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This symposium is hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Institute of Marxism Studies and Zhejiang University of Technology, and organized by the Department of the International Communist Movement of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and the School of Marxism at Zhejiang University of Technology. Scholarly submissions are now invited from experts and scholars nationwide engaged in research within this field.
The conference topics are as follows:
- Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
- New developments and challenges in the world socialist movement in the New Era.
- The contemporary value of the Manifesto of the Communist Party.
- Constructing a community with a shared future for humanity and global political party cooperation.
- Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Marx: History and reality of the international communist movement.
The deadline for submissions is May 20, 2018. Please send electronic versions of papers (hard copies will not be accepted) to the conference email addresses: ylx@zjut.edu.cn (for experts and scholars in Zhejiang Province) and niuzhengke@126.com (for experts and scholars outside Zhejiang Province). Please attach an author biography, abstract, and keywords; citations should follow the footnote format. A collection of conference proceedings will be published following the event.
Upon review of all submissions by relevant experts, invitations to the conference will be sent to the authors of selected papers.
