Notice of the 6th International Forum on the Communist Movement Seminar: "New Situation of the World Socialist Movement in the New Era"
This year marks the inaugural year for the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC [1]. It also happens to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx and the 170th anniversary of the publication of the Manifesto of the Communist Party. In order to conduct an in-depth exploration of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as the new developments and challenges facing the world socialist movement in the New Era, and to deepen our understanding of the laws governing the development of socialism, the academic symposium "The New Situation of the World Socialist Movement in the New Era"—hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Zhejiang University of Technology—is scheduled to be held on June 24, 2018, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The conference is organized by the Department of the International Communist Movement of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and the School of Marxism at Zhejiang University of Technology. A collection of conference papers will be published following the event.
The conference topics are as follows:
- Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
- New developments and challenges of the world socialist movement in the New Era.
- The contemporary value of the Manifesto of the Communist Party.
- Building a community with a shared future for humanity and global inter-party cooperation.
- Commemorating the 200th anniversary of Marx's birth: The history and reality of the international communist movement.
The deadline for the submission of papers for this forum was May 20, 2018. The call for papers has now concluded. A total of over one hundred papers from scholars across various regions have been received; we would like to express our gratitude for the hard work of all participating scholars!
Following a peer review by relevant experts, notifications of acceptance will be sent to the authors of selected papers via email in early June.
There is no conference registration fee for this forum. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses during the meeting.
