Notice of the 9th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Schools

Dear Madam/Sir:

In order to deeply study and implement the spirits of the 18th National Congress of the Party, as well as the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Plenary Sessions of the 18th Central Committee [1], and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches, and to further advance the study of Marxist theory and discipline construction, it has been decided upon deliberation that the 9th Deans' Forum on Marxism will be held in late September 2016 at the National University of Defense Technology (Changsha, Hunan). The theme of this year's forum is: The Truth, Popularization, and Critique of Erroneous Trends of Thought in Marxism. Given your influence within the Marxist academic community, we specially invite you to take time out of your busy schedule [2] to attend the conference.

II. Conference Time and Location Time: September 17–19, 2016. Registration on the 17th, departure on the 19th. Location: National University of Defense Technology.

III. Conference Papers and Expenses

  1. Conference Papers The conference requires participants to submit one unpublished academic paper of approximately 8,000 characters (electronic version) to the assembly no later than August 1, 2016. It is required that the paper fits the theme, possesses a clear thesis, maintains correct perspectives, provides focused argumentation, and uses accurate and standardized citations. The conference plans to compile a selection of high-quality papers for publication by the Guangxi Normal University Press Group.   2. Expenses The conference does not charge a conference fee; transportation and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants themselves.

IV. Conference Registration Matters Registration Time: All day on September 17, 2016. During registration hours, the conference affairs group will set up reception stations at Huanghua International Airport, Changsha South Railway Station, and Changsha Railway Station. Registration Location: National University of Defense Technology.
