Call for Papers: The 12th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Schools

The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In order to comprehensively review and summarize the glorious journey, great achievements, and major outcomes of Marxist research in China, to vigorously promote the classical inheritance and innovative development of Marxism, to deeply advance the Sinicization, modernization, and popularization [1] of Marxism, and to fully initiate a new phase for the research and dissemination of Marxism in the New Era, the 12th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Institutes is scheduled to be held in Beijing on July 20, 2019. The theme of the forum is "70 Years of Marxist Research."

This forum will focus closely on the conference theme and emphasize the following topics for discussion:

  1. The historical achievements and valuable experiences gained in the construction and development of New China.
  2. The historical process and theoretical contributions of the Sinicization of Marxism.
  3. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  4. The external dissemination and research of contemporary Chinese Marxism.
  5. The historical course and principal achievements in the establishment and development of the discipline of Marxist Theory.

We cordially invite teaching and research personnel from national scientific research institutions, institutions of higher education, Party and government departments, and other units to actively submit manuscripts. Manuscript requirements are as follows:

  1. The stance must be correct [2], the theme distinct, the logic rigorous, and the approach must combine history with theory [3], reflecting academic rigor and innovation while possessing high theoretical and practical value.
  2. Papers must be original, unpublished works of no fewer than 8,000 characters. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approximately 300 characters), keywords (3–5), a brief author biography, and detailed contact information.

This forum adopts a "submission-based invitation" format [4]. The deadline for paper submissions is June 10, 2019. Please send the electronic version of the paper as a WORD document to the contact person: Researcher Yang Jing of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (Email: mnsh2019@163.com). Following selection by an expert review committee, conference invitation letters will be sent to the authors of selected papers by June 25.

Outstanding papers will be collected and published in a volume after the conference and will be recommended for publication in Marxist Studies (Mǎkèsuīzhǔyì Yánjiū).
