An Introduction to the Foreign Leftist Thought Research Office

The Research Office of Foreign Left-wing Thought focuses on foreign left-wing thought as its primary research direction. It represents a key research area within the priority discipline ^[1] of "Foreign Marxism" and is a priority-funded research office under the "Marxist Theoretical Discipline Development and Theoretical Research" project of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Currently, the research office comprises four researchers, led by Director and Research Fellow ^[2] Zhou Miao. Research Fellow Zhou Miao primarily engages in the study of foreign Marxist political-economic theory. Associate Research Fellow Song Lidan focuses on Marxist class theory and the study of ethnic and racial issues abroad. Associate Research Fellow Kang Yanru primarily researches Soviet history and world socialism. Associate Research Fellow Lei Xiaohuan focuses on foreign Marxism and the contemporary world. The researchers in this office possess linguistic advantages in English, Russian, and other languages; all hold doctoral degrees. Centering on their respective research directions and fields, they carry out their research diligently and have achieved excellent scientific results. The discipline development of the research office is advancing steadily, with a comprehensive disciplinary layout and a wide coverage of research areas, placing it at the forefront of the country.
