Introduction to the Party Building and Party History Research Office

The Department of Party Building and Party History currently has four researchers, including three associate researchers, one assistant researcher, and two supervisors for master’s students.

The Department of Party Building and Party History is the department designated to undertake the Key Discipline of CPC History and Party Building within the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Its research scope comprises two major sectors: first, the prioritized study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on Party building and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on the Party’s self-revolution; second, the study of the hundred-year history of the Party.

The Department of Party Building and Party History is currently primarily responsible for two major innovation projects of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, three National Social Science Fund of China projects, one key project of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, one CASS youth social research project, and one CASS Women and Gender Research Center project. Furthermore, the Department of Party Building and Party History undertakes several projects commissioned or entrusted by central and state organs, as well as horizontal research projects [1].

Representative research achievements of this department include: Study of Mao Zedong’s Thought on Youth, The Unique Strength of the Communist Party of China, The Yan’an Spirit [2], A Study on the Growth Mechanism of Grassroots Leading Cadres in China: An Analytical Framework Based on Fields, Mechanisms, and Roles, and The Causes of Formation, Characteristics, and Practical Value of the Spiritual Pedigree of Chinese Communists [3].
