Current Leaders

Yu Haiqing, born in February 1975, currently serves as the Vice President of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He is the Executive Deputy Director of the World Socialism Research Center, and the Executive Editor-in-Chief and Director of the Editorial Office for World Socialism Studies. Additionally, he holds the positions of Director of the Department of Foreign Marxism Studies and Director of the Western Marxism Research Office. He is a Senior Research Fellow and a doctoral supervisor.

His primary research interests include world socialism, as well as the study of foreign leftist political parties, intellectual trends, and social movements. His authored monographs include Greek Left-wing Political Parties and Socialist Movements from a Radical Perspective, Transformation and Challenges of Western European Communist Parties, Research on Contemporary Western Participatory Democracy, and Whither Capitalism?. His translated works include The European Radical Left, Justice Interruptus: Critical Reflections on the "Post-socialist" Condition, and One Hundred Years of Socialism in Europe. He has also edited volumes such as Collectively Witnessing the Centenary of a Great Party and Another Look at China's New Era.

He is currently directing a major project of the National Social Science Fund of China titled "Compilation and Research of Foreign Marxist Discourses on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" (21&ZD023). He has been the recipient of over ten provincial and ministerial-level awards.
