Marxist Philosophy Research Office

About the Institute

The Marxist Philosophy Research Office currently comprises four researchers, including one Senior Research Fellow, two Associate Research Fellows, and one Assistant Research Fellow; the staff includes one doctoral supervisor and two master's supervisors. The current Director of the Research Office is Senior Research Fellow Zhang Jianyun.

The Philosophy Research Office primarily investigates the fundamental principles of Marxist philosophy and major issues concerning the development of the times. It focuses on the historical materialist conception of history, the scientific conception of practice, Marxist axiology (theory of value), as well as the question of the integrity of Marxism, the contemporary interpretation of the fundamental principles of Marxism, and Marxist research into the essence and application of digital intelligent technology.

Currently, the Philosophy Research Office has undertaken research on several projects, including the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) Key Project "Historical Materialist Research on New Quality Productive Forces," the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Think Tank Project for Marxist Theoretical Innovation "Digital Intelligent Technology and the Transformation of Cultural Modes of Production and Its Profound Significance," the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies Innovation Project "Research on Combining the Fundamental Principles of Marxism with China’s Specific Realities and with Fine Traditional Chinese Culture," and the CASS Marxism Theory Research and Construction Project [1] Major Project "The Transformation of 'Modes of Interaction' in the Era of Big Data and the Internet and Its Profound Significance."
