Introduction to the Scientific Socialism Research Department
The Scientific Socialism Research Office currently has six research personnel. Primary Research Fields: The Scientific Socialism Research Office was formerly the Research Office for the Thought of Lenin and Stalin; it changed to its current name in May 2020. With the nationally first-class Institute of Marxism Studies and the Department of Marxist Fundamental Principles—which possesses a [predominant discipline] [1] in Marxist fundamental principles—as its strong backing, the office adheres to the academic tradition of combining basic theoretical research with research on major practical issues. On one hand, it deeply excavates the classic texts of scientific socialism, provides innovative interpretations of the fundamental principles of scientific socialism, and continuously consolidates the foundation of theoretical research. On the other hand, it focuses on major practical issues and applies the fundamental principles of scientific socialism to explain and demonstrate them, providing an academic basis and theoretical support for the scientific decision-making of the Party and the government.
Primary Research Directions: First, classic works of scientific socialism. This involves systematically categorizing and excavating the theories of scientific socialism contained within the classic works of Marxism. Second, fundamental theoretical issues of scientific socialism. This includes the basic principles of scientific socialism, the logical starting point of scientific socialism, and the research methodology of scientific socialism. In conjunction with the developments of the era, the office researches and interprets theoretical issues such as the theory of the essence of socialism, the basic axiology of socialism, and the structure of socialist ownership and its development trends. Third, major practical issues. The office conducts key research on focus areas, difficulties, and hot-button issues within the field of scientific socialism—such as the relationship between socialism and capitalism; the basic connotation and historical status of the path, theory, and system of socialism with Chinese characteristics; and the modernization of [state governance] [2]—continuously demonstrating the contemporary explanatory power and vitality of scientific socialism.
