Call for Papers: The 6th "Marxist Philosophy Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences"
In order to deeply study and propagate Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC [1], and to further promote the study of Marxist philosophy, the 6th "Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Marxist Philosophy Forum" is scheduled to be held in mid-August 2018 in Tianjin. The theme of the conference is "Philosophical Innovation in Contemporary Chinese Marxism." This forum is co-sponsored by the CASS Leading Group for Marxist Theoretical Discipline Construction and Theoretical Research Project, the CASS Center for National Cultural Security and Ideology Construction Research, and Tianjin University; it is hosted by the School of Marxism at Tianjin University.
The "CASS Marxist Philosophy Forum" was established in 2013 and is held annually. It has become a high-end national academic forum aimed at strengthening exchanges among scholars in the field of Marxist philosophy across the country, advancing the in-depth theoretical research of this discipline, and giving full play to the role of Marxist philosophy in leading ideological trends, innovating theory, and consolidating strength [2] within the development of contemporary China. The forum operates under a Chairperson Responsibility System, with Professor Hou Huiqin—Director of the CASS Center for National Cultural Security and Ideology Construction Research and President of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism—serving as Forum Chairperson.
The forum follows a system of "invitation based on submission." We hereby solicit papers from experts, scholars, and teaching and research personnel nationwide engaged in Marxist theoretical research. Submitted conference papers should revolve around the theme of this forum and adhere to the correct political orientation [3]; they must be unpublished scientific research results and comply with academic norms. Papers should generally not exceed 8,000 words (including notes) and must be accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 words. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources clearly indicated (please refer to the format of the journal Marxist Studies [4]). Please attach a brief author biography, email address, and contact phone number at the end of the text.
Deadline for submissions: July 31, 2018. After the papers pass the initial selection, the forum preparatory group will issue invitation letters to the selected authors in early August.
