Talent Recruitment Announcement of the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

In accordance with professional requirements, the Institute of Marxism Studies [1] is openly recruiting staff from the public.

I. Recruitment Categories Post-doctoral researchers completing their assignments in 2018 and personnel currently employed within the Beijing municipality.

II. Basic Conditions

  1. Observe the Constitution and laws.
  2. Support the Party’s basic line and the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics; persist in the correct political and academic directions; possess a sound scholarly style [2], moral cultivation, and professional integrity; and exercise uprightness and self-discipline.
  3. Possess the professional research capabilities or technical skills required for the position.
  4. Maintain physical and mental health, meet the requirements of the position, and ensure the ability to work full-time during the term of employment.
  5. Age must not exceed 40 years.

III. Recruitment Positions and Requirements (1) Research Positions

  1. Doctoral degree.
  2. Possess a solid foundation of professional theoretical knowledge, high professional literacy, and strong research capabilities; have a proficient command of one to two foreign languages; and be committed to pursuing academic research.
  3. Professional requirements: Marxist Theory, Sinicization of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement, Ideological and Political Education, CPC History and Party Building, Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, Foreign Marxism, etc.

(2) Website Editor Position

  1. Master’s degree and Beijing household registration (hukou).
  2. Possess a professional background in Marxist Theory, Sinicization of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement, Ideological and Political Education, CPC History and Party Building, Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, Foreign Marxism, or other relevant and proximal disciplines.
  3. Proficient in operating common webpage production software and network search tools, with knowledge of website development, operation, and maintenance.
  4. Have two or more years of relevant work experience.

IV. Employment Remuneration

  1. Recruited personnel shall be incorporated into the Institute’s personnel recruitment system management, and a public institution employee contract [3] shall be signed.
  2. Remuneration for recruited personnel shall be implemented in accordance with the corresponding salary and welfare policies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

V. Recruitment Procedures Submit a personal curriculum vitae (CV) and the "Institute of Marxism Studies Applicant Information Form" along with other materials → Notification to participate in a written examination following initial selection → Notification for those who pass the written examination to participate in an interview → Physical examination and investigation [4] → Deliberation of preliminary candidates → Preparation of relevant materials for submission to the Personnel and Education Bureau of CASS and participation in expert reviews organized by the Personnel Bureau → Approval of the review → Signing of the employment contract.

VI. Application Period, Methods, and Precautions

  1. Applicants must provide the following materials: "Institute of Marxism Studies Applicant Information Form" (see attachment), a personal CV, 1–2 representative papers, and copies of identification cards and award certificates. One hard copy and one electronic copy of the application materials must be submitted (representative works should be submitted as hard copies; electronic versions are not required).   2. The application deadline is August 27, 2018; applications will not be accepted after this date.
  3. The Personnel Office will notify participants of the time, location, and other relevant matters concerning the written examination and interview in advance by telephone. Specific details will simultaneously be announced on the "Marxist Research Network." Applicants are requested to monitor website information in a timely manner; applicants shall bear the responsibility for any consequences resulting from their failure to follow relevant information in time.
