Call for Papers: 2018 Annual Conference of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism
In order to further the in-depth study, research, and implementation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Party [1] and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and to promote the research and innovation of historical materialism in our country, the 2018 Annual Conference of the China Society of Historical Materialism [2] is scheduled to be held in Beijing from November 3 to 4, 2018 (the conference duration is two days, November 3 and 4, with registration all day on November 2). The conference is co-hosted by the China Society of Historical Materialism and the University of Science and Technology Beijing, and organized by the editorial department of Ideological Education Research (Sixiang Jiaoyu Yanjiu) and the School of Marxism at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. The theme of the conference is "Historical Laws and Contemporary China's Reform and Opening-up." The annual conference will adopt a format combining the targeted invitation of renowned experts with participation via paper submission. We welcome everyone to actively write papers around this theme to participate in the conference.
Submitted papers should select a specific title based on the theme and the aforementioned content, while paying attention to the following four points: papers must closely adhere to the theme, maintain correct viewpoints, and highlight ideological, academic, and practical qualities (non-academic works such as essays [3] or poetry will not be accepted); papers should be the product of independent research and previously unpublished; the length of the paper should be controlled within 9,000 characters, including an abstract of no more than 500 characters; for citation and annotation formats, please refer to the journal Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu) and carefully verify all quotations.
The Society adheres to the principle of "participation based on paper submission" (yi wen fu hui) [4]. Please send the electronic version of your contribution to lwxh2018@163.com before October 8, 2018. We will conduct a selection process for the papers; those whose papers are selected will be notified of their participation by October 20, and excellent papers will be selected for recommended publication.
