In order to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on strengthening "academic external propaganda" [1] and "academic diplomacy," as well as the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' (CASS) "Academic Going Out" strategy, and to promote academic exchange and dialogue between China and foreign countries, enhance the external promotion of the path, theoretical system, and institutional achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and elevate China's discourse power [2] and soft power, it has been jointly decided by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the University of Newcastle, Australia, that the 2018 "Australia Forum on the Chinese Path" will be held from December 1–8, 2018, in Newcastle and Sydney, Australia, as well as in New Zealand.
