Call for Papers: The 12th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Schools

The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. In order to comprehensively review and summarize the glorious journey, great achievements, and major outcomes of Marxist research in China, to vigorously promote the classical inheritance and innovative development of Marxism, to deeply advance the Sinicization, modernization [1], and popularization of Marxism, and to fully open a new chapter for the research and dissemination of Marxism in the New Era, the 12th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Academies is scheduled to be held in Beijing on July 20, 2019. The theme of the forum is "70 Years of Marxist Research."

This forum will focus closely on the conference theme and emphasize the following topics for discussion:

  1. Historical achievements and valuable experience gained in the construction and development of New China.
  2. The historical process and theoretical contributions of the Sinicization of Marxism.
  3. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  4. The international dissemination and study of contemporary Chinese Marxism.
  5. The historical process and major achievements in the establishment and development of the discipline of Marxist theory [2].

We sincerely invite teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, institutions of higher education, and Party and government departments to actively submit manuscripts. Manuscript requirements are as follows:

  1. The standpoint must be correct [3], the theme distinct, the logic rigorous, and the historical and theoretical analysis well-integrated (shilun jiehe [4]). The work should reflect academic rigor and innovation, possessing high theoretical and practical value.
  2. Papers must be original, unpublished works of no less than 8,000 words. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approx. 300 words), keywords (3–5), a brief author biography, and detailed contact information.

This forum adopts the method of "invitation based on submission." The deadline for paper submissions is June 10, 2019. Please send the electronic version of the paper as a WORD document to the contact person: Researcher Yang Jing of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (Email: mnsh2019@163.com). After the submitted papers are reviewed by the expert selection committee, conference invitations will be sent to the selected authors by June 25.

Outstanding papers will be compiled and published in a collection after the meeting and recommended for publication in Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu).
