Invitation to the First "Guiyang Forum on Marxism in the New Era" and the Academic Seminar on "70 Years of CPC Political Construction in New China"

The political construction of the Party is the fundamental construction of the Party.

In order to deeply study and grasp the spirit of the Central Committee's "Opinions on Strengthening the Political Construction of the Party," to summarize the basic experiences and great achievements of the Party's political construction [1] since the 70 years of New China, to assist in advancing the Great New Project of Party building [2] in the New Era, to implement the requirement of "using scholarship to explain politics," and to guide Party members and cadres in strengthening their consciousness and resolve in advancing the political construction of the Party, the Publicity Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Institute of Marxism Studies, and Guizhou Normal University intend to jointly host the first "New Era Marxism Guiyang Forum" and the "Academic Seminar on 70 Years of the Party's Political Construction in New China." The specific details are as follows:

I. Reference Topics for the Conference

The theme of this seminar is "Research on 70 Years of the Party's Political Construction in New China." Reference topics are as follows:

  1. Research on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on strengthening the political construction of the Party.
  2. Research on the developmental trajectory of the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.
  3. Research on the basic experiences of the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.
  4. Research on the Communist Party of China's firming of political belief over the 70 years of New China.
  5. Research on the Communist Party of China's strengthening of political leadership over the 70 years of New China.
  6. Research on the Communist Party of China's improvement of political capacity over the 70 years of New China.
  7. Research on the Communist Party of China's purification of the political ecosystem over the 70 years of New China.
  8. Research on important historical figures in the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.
  9. Research on major historical events in the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.
  10. Research on important historical documents regarding the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.
  11. Research on the evolution of discourse regarding the Party's political construction over the 70 years of New China.

II. Conference Time

August 20th to 22nd, 2019. Registration on August 20th; seminars on the 21st and the morning of the 22nd; departure on the afternoon of August 22nd.

III. Conference Venue

West Lake Garden Hotel, Guiyang (Address: No. 133 Baoshan North Road, Guiyang, opposite the Guizhou Provincial Department of Public Security; Hotel Telephone: 0851-87995678).

Transportation: Arrival by Rail: From Guiyang Railway Station, take bus No. 17 or 253 and get off at the Normal University (Shida) stop. Fare is 2 RMB; travel time is approximately 25 minutes. A taxi takes approximately 15 minutes and costs about 20 RMB. From Guiyang North Railway Station, take bus No. 262 and get off at the Normal University (Shida) stop. Fare is 2 RMB; travel time is approximately 30 minutes. A taxi takes approximately 20 minutes and costs about 30 RMB.

Arrival by Air: Take the airport shuttle from Guiyang Airport to Jinyang and get off at the entrance of the Normal University. Fare is 10 RMB. A taxi takes approximately 20 minutes and costs about 35 RMB.

IV. Conference Fees

The conference does not charge a registration fee. Round-trip transportation and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants. Meals and material costs during the conference will be covered by the host organizations.

V. Other Matters

  1. Scholars confirming their attendance are requested to submit one unpublished academic paper of approximately 9,000 characters (electronic version) to the conference. Requirements: The paper must align with the theme, possess a clear thesis, correct viewpoints, focused argumentation, and accurate, standardized citations. Please send the paper to the designated email address before August 10th for compilation into the conference proceedings.
  2. As August is peak tourist season in Guizhou, hotel rooms must be booked in advance. Upon receipt of this letter, please return the "Conference Receipt" to the designated email address or confirm attendance and accommodation requirements (single occupancy or shared room for two) via telephone before July 15th.
  3. Scholars are requested not to bring family members or current graduate students to the conference.
